In this episode, Chef Tim Love talks about what it was like to have to let go of nearly 400 people as he was forced to shut down normal operations at all 14 of his restaurants. During a difficult time, Tim has decided to let creativity, generosity, and a love for people to change his business model. Love went from building a restaurant empire to starting a community hot meal program where he and his team have now served over 3,000 people to the vulnerable, needy, and frontline workers in his community. He has converted one of his restaurants to a market place and continues to forge forward to help people find comfort and enjoy a good meal together. 

Chef Tim Love has restaurants spanning the nation from Seattle to Knoxville, Love’s roots remain in Texas, where he is chef and owner of beloved Texas restaurants Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, Woodshed Smokehouse, Queenie’s Steakhouse, Gemelle, Atico, and Love Shack, as well as the storied White Elephant Saloon.

A committed philanthropist, Love is devoted to several charities including Burgers 4 Babies, which he founded in 2010 benefitting the NICU Helping Hands organization.

Love has appeared on countless national television shows, including NBC’s TODAY Show, Good Morning America, and has recently been appointed as the Official Food and Wine Contributor for CNBC. An avid hunter and dedicated sports fan, Love can often be found tailgating in his custom-built Toyota Tundra with his beloved Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, or Tennessee Volunteers.
